- have patience for your healing journey
- be proud of how far you’ve come
- nurture the little kid inside your heart
- believe in your capabilities
- prioritise yourself and your needs
These reminders are some of the points that emerged during the group sessions where we transformed one of the classrooms at the University of Leeds into a healing circle ❤️🩹
It was my honour to offer these sessions and hold space for the students, many of whom had never lived abroad before. Thank you Tala Thrive for the invitation, and thank you University of Leeds for having me🌻 The game of throwing a slipper at a particular experience you may have gone through in childhood (like the aunties gossiping, or feeling like success is always about grades and work) was an inside joke that resonated with many, including myself! 🫣🩴
