it’s okay to feel everything but also nothing at the same time

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions but couldn’t seem to describe how you actually felt?

When I was studying at Oxford University last spring, one of the most important things my professor would reiterate at the beginning of every class was to check-in with ourselves and name our emotions. Because only when we’re able to name these emotions can we start to learn how to overcome them.

So I invite you to check-in with yourself today.

Remember, allowing yourself to feel all the feelings rather than holding them in, or brushing them under the carpet, is a sign of self-acceptance, which indicates that you’re slowly processing your emotions.

And although it may seem like you’re not making any progress by feeling this way, having self-awareness during challenging times is already a great sign that you’re beginning to heal.

With love & light,
Eve
